ClimbHI

Founded in 2009, ClimbHI seeks to inspire students to finish high school and proceed to post-secondary education or employment by exposing them to future career paths and the steps necessary to achieve those goals.

ClimbHI is a Hawaii-based 501(c)(3)nonprofit that focuses on three main program areas: Leadership, Exploration, Inspiration (LEI) events; the Service Excellence Certificate for high school students; and the ClimbHI Bridge online portal that connects businesses, educators and students. ClimbHI also oversees several awards programs for educators and businesses.

Our Mission

ClimbHI seeks to inspire students to finish high school and proceed to post-secondary educations or employment by educating them about future career paths and the process necessary to achieve those goals.

ClimbHI has been developed to seek community support to sustain education and culture for students through real-life exposure. Students will be able to pick areas of interest and visit businesses and entities in that field for a guided experience of the operation, the opportunities available, and the requirements to take advantage of the opportunities in the future, all conducted by volunteer professionals from those specific businesses and institutions and ClimbHI. The goal is to take ClimbHi’s sustainable model nationwide, but the initial focus will be on Hawaii.

Hawaiian Electric Company, Inc.

Inspired by an enlightened king more than a century ago, Hawaii was an early adopter of electricity to light homes and power industry. The ingenuity in creating and delivering power on these isolated islands is a unique story of innovation, connectivity and progressive thinking that continues today.

For more than 125 years, Hawaiian Electric has provided the energy that has helped drive the islands' development from a kingdom to a modern state. Hawaiian Electric serves 95 percent of the state's 1.4 million residents on the islands of Oahu, Maui, Hawaii Island, Lanai and Molokai.

Since 1891, we have been entrusted to power these islands and empower its citizens - a responsibility that has been both our mission and our honor.

Kamehameha Schools

Kamehameha Schools is a private charitable educational trust endowed by the will of Hawaiian princess Bernice Pauahi Bishop (1831-1884), the great-granddaughter and last direct descendant of King Kamehameha I.

During her lifetime, Princess Pauahi witnessed the rapid decline of the Hawaiian population. The princess knew that education would be key to the survival of her people, so in an enduring act of aloha, she left them a precious gift upon her passing — 375,000 acres of ancestral land. She instructed the trustees of her estate to use “the rest, residue and remainder of my estate” to educate her people.

Today, her endowment supports an educational system that serves thousands of Hawaiian learners.

Kamehameha Schools – Ke Kula Kiʻekiʻe (High School)

Kamehameha Schools – Ke Kula Kiʻekiʻe is the high school division (grades 9-12) of Kamehameha Schools, a private, educational and charitable trust in Hawaiʻi founded in 1887 by the will of Princess Bernice Pauahi Bishop to provide educational opportunities for people of Native Hawaiian ancestry.

Kula Ki‘eki‘e is the culmination of an incredible formative experience in the younger years of a keiki’s development. After a haumāna has worked on establishing their sense of awareness and exploration in the earlier years of school, we can now prioritize student agency at the high school. With that strong kahua, we encourage our haumāna to turn their aspirations into reality and equip them to be successful future ‘ōiwi leaders. We have built our entire grade 9-12 experience to support that journey with the goal of seeing our graduates succeed in college, career, and life.
