Opportunity Description:

Each year, Hawai‘i REALTORS®, the statewide association of REALTORS®, commemorates the Fair Housing Act, a law that prohibits discrimination in housing based on race, color, religion, ancestry/national origin, sex, familial status, physical or mental disability, marital status, age, or orientation and gender identity. This law ensures that everyone has equal access to housing and protects homebuyers from discrimination as they get a mortgage, rent a home, buy a home, seek housing assistance, or participate in other housing-related activities.

Our Keiki Art Contest, open to students in grades K-8, helps children learn about fair housing rights and its importance in Hawai‘i’s communities. We invite our keiki to submit an original piece of artwork expressing their thoughts about fair housing in Hawai‘i based on this year’s theme: “Fair Housing Is Aloha."

PRIZES: First place winners in each category (grades K-4 and grades 5-8) will receive $250, and their artwork will be featured in a printed 2026 calendar. Second place winners in each category will receive $150. Third place winners in each category will receive $75. Honorable Mentions will also be selected.
