Gidens is a pre-seed startup building back-office AI software for small business owners in the food and restaurant industry.
About the Role
/gidens/ is seeking a Software Engineering Intern to join our development team and contribute to building our innovative document management and chat-based platform for small business owners in the food service and restaurant industry. This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with modern web technologies in a product-driven environment.
Who you are
- Develop backend services and APIs
- Write database queries and data processing logic
- Some experience and familiarity with programming, either through side projects or classwork. We work mostly in TypeScript/JavaScript.
- Participate in code reviews and technical discussions
- Debug issues and implement bug fixes
Who you are
- Currently pursuing a degree in computer science, math, or a related discipline
- Knowledge of TypeScript/JavaScript programming
- Basic understanding of REST APIs
- Familiarity with SQL and database concepts
- Familiarity with version control (Git)
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication abilities
Nice to have
- Knowledge of Python (including the Flask framework), SQLAlchemy
- Knowledge of React (frontend), Jinja or Streamlit
- Experience with async programming
- Interest in chat agents, AI and automation
